Privacy policy

Effective September 6, 2026 · RecNotes for iPhone

Your audio stays with you

RecNotes stores recordings, recording names, cue markers, and settings locally on your device. The app does not upload your recordings to the developer or operate a cloud-sync service. No account is required.

Microphone access

The microphone is used only to record audio when you start a recording. Recording can continue in the background until you stop it. You can change microphone permission in iPhone Settings.

Collection and tracking

RecNotes does not collect personal data for the developer, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or track you across apps or websites. This version does not offer transcription.

Sharing and backups

When you choose Share, you decide which app or service receives your audio. That recipient's privacy practices apply. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple backup settings; these are managed by Apple, not the developer.

Deletion

You can delete individual recordings from Tapes. Deleting a recording removes its associated cues from the app. Exported copies and backups must be managed separately with the service that holds them.

Support messages

If you email support, the developer receives your email address and the information you send, uses it to respond, and retains it only as needed to handle your request. Ask by email if you want your support correspondence deleted.

This website

This support site does not request recordings or provide a sign-up form. This website is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the site. See GitHub’s privacy statement. The developer has not added advertising or analytics trackers.
